e-mail: sales@adorama.comWe've made the very regrettable mistake of ordering products from this company. That automatically puts you on their spam list. That isn't a crime -- yet. We've been extremely careful to painstakingly opt out of all options for "special offers" from this outfit. Yet the spams kept coming. We began setting up email filters to block them. Yet the spams got through. We changed email addresses. Adorama found every single one of our new addresses and spammed us even more. We began to email Adorama roughly six months ago asking that they remove us from any and all spam lists. They replied and promised to do so. But the spams kept coming. We then began a campaign of emailing them every single time we recieved a spam from them, now DEMANDING that they cease and desist contacting us in any way, shape or form, and that we considered their continued contacts to be unwanted and harassing. Yet the spams kept coming. We then began a regimen of sending letters to Adorama advising that we were going to file formal criminal charges of harassment if they did not stop spamming us. The spams continued unabated. We then began advising Adorama that we already HAD filed a police complaint for harassment, and that every time they continued to spam us, they were merely adding to the documentation of our case. The spams continued unabated. We finally find ourselves at this point, where we ARE (this time in actuality) filing a criminal complaint of Interstate electronic harassment against Adorama Camera. There is nothing else we can do to seek relief. We can document dozens of times over that Adorama has been advised to cease and desist contacting us (sometimes they replied). Their continued contact cannot possibly serve any other purpose than to harass and annoy.
On 10-12-07 we received the following spam from Adorama. We've saved all or most such emails, complete with headers. We have copies of all correspondence to Adorama, and from them. We have far more documentation than we need to bring this to trial and to effect a conviction. Your D.A. will readily agree.
We're asking that you contact this unscrupulous company and enter into a brief conversation in which you make it clear to them that they are now operating in a criminal environment, and that they may well be subject to prosecution, trial, conviction, fines, and restitution to their victims. Perhaps that will work -- more likely not. But it will add further documentation to this case.
Adorama is utterly famous for this activity, and you will find thousands or tens of thousands of references to Adorama's ludicrous spam practices across the net. People are angry. They're getting angrier. But for whatever reason, this company steadfastly refuses to stop. Perhaps it's time for a class-action suit.
