CRIMINAL COMPLAINT: Registered Mail Receipt: 9410 8036 9930 0015-------
This complaint comes to your office for three reasons:
(1) The Seattle office of the FBI has steadfastly refused to respond to our repeated complaints, sent to it via registered mail, over a period of roughly eighteen months. They even refuse to respond to tell us to go away.
(2) The Seattle Police Department had steadfastly refused to respond to our repeated complaints, sent to it over a period of roughly eighteen months. Only a new complaint to SPD's Internal Affairs forced a response at all from SPD; that response was, to put it mildly, unsatisfactory.
(3) The King County Sheriff's Department had steadfastly refused to respond to our repeated complaints, sent to it via registered mail, over a period of roughly eighteen months.
This complaint is twofold:
(1) We have received threats of death and/or dismemberment by parties known to us from another state. This constitutes an interstate crime, probably a Felony.
(2) We have ample reason to believe that the Seattle Police department has chosen not to process or investigate this crime because it chooses to punish us for having resorted to filing against it with their I.A. division. We call that corruption. We believe KCSO refuses to respond because they are simply lazy.
On 5-6-2009 we began receiving insulting rants from the following email address: BENTBRUSHGRAPHX@GMAIL.COM (this is a local tattoo artist). We ignored the emails.
On 5-9-2009 we received the following email through a secure contact form:

"teaching" will lead to. If I lived near seattle I'd be setting up an
appointment with you to cut your fucking fingers off.

Upon receipt of the above threat, we immediately sent a written complaint to the Seattle Police department. There was no response for a year or more. We knew this would be the case.
We therefore also immediately sent a written complaint to the Seattle office of the FBI, via registered mail. That office signed for that letter, and for all subsequent letters over the next eighteen or so months, but to this date has steadfastly refused to reply. We knew this would be the case.
We also sent a written complaint to the King County Sheriff's office. We received no reply, ever, from that office. We knew that would be the case.
Knowing that local law enforcement would be of little or no help in this or any other case, we set out to protect ourselves to the degree possible by finding out who the sender was. To that end we filed in Seattle District court against "John Doe / IP 71.97.158.245". We obtained a temporary, emergency restraining order, and that gave us subpoena authority. We served Verizon with said subpoena and were eventually supplied the name and address of the sender's account, as follows (see Verizon's subpoena reply, enclosed):

We then supplied that data to SPD, who still refused to respond, and to your Seattle office of the FBI who, of course, still refused to respond, and to the King County Sheriff's office, who still, of course, refused to respond.
We then filed a complaint against SPD through their Internal Affairs office, and received a stupid response that effected no cure whatsoever (see website for that fiasco).
But we thought at the time the matter was finally being investigated by an unnamed detective at SPD. Only six months, and many unanswered letters later, did we discover that the case had, in fact, been assigned to one Steve Hirjak (SPD), but that Kirjak had immediately marked the file "INACTIVE" and dropped the case. It was not investigated in any way, shape or form. We have written to Kirjak to inquire of his reasoning for dropping the case. As expected, we have received no reply.
We believe that Kirjak dropped the case as an adolescent means of punishing us for having had the audacity to file a complaint with his I.A. division. We know of no other reason, since Hirjak still refuses to respond.
We have begun approaching various news outlets. Two have so far expressed an interest in following this case and in reporting the eventual outcome. It is clear that law enforcement in this region is highly "selective". We do believe that law enforcement in this region is more incompetent, more illogical, more lackadaisical, and more downright corrupt than in any of the eleven states and three countries we've lived in and owned businesses in, and that includes both sides of the Mexican border. We've frankly never seen anything like this in our lives, and we thought we'd seen everything.
We ask that this complaint be properly, competently and lawfully processed and investigated and referred for prosecution. It's a slam dunk for God's sake. If you need further documentation, please ask.
We ask for a case number by return mail.

All any agency need have done to avoid this was to have done the jobs they were sworn to do when they were hired. They clearly cannot be counted on to do that, nor does any overseeing agency seem to see fit to entice these people to do the jobs they're paid to do.
And law enforcement wonders why no one respects it.
Honestly, we're far more afraid of you people than we are of the terrorists.
